One dead after officer-involved shooting on southwest side

TUCSON (KVOA) - A man is dead after being involved in an officer-involved shooting Monday night on the southwest side. 

According to Tucson police, the incident occurred at around 6 p.m. Monday at the Lowe's parking lot located at 1800 W. Valencia Rd. 

Officials reported that an "uninformed" Tucson police officer was involved in the incident. 

Tucson police state that no officers have been injured, however the suspect, who has not been identified, is dead. 

According to TPD, they reported a large number of witnesses who are in the process of being interviewed.

Traffic in the area of South Oak Tree Drive from West Valencia Road have been restricted at this time due to the incident. 

No further information has been released, as this is an ongoing investigation.
