A ridge of high pressure will build over the West Coast but a couple of systems will pass by over the next several days. The first will bring a chance for rain and snow in the White Mountains today with some flurries possible in the higher terrain here in SE AZ.

High pressure will begin to break down today but it should be quiet for any outdoor events for Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Highs will warm into the low 70s in the warmest spots this afternoon with lows dropping into the 30s and 40s.

There will be a few clouds on tap today and you'll see some virga as well. Rain isn't looking likely because the air is too dry in the lower levels so that is why most of it will evaporate before making it to the ground. Some sprinkles, however, can't be completely ruled out. Highs will warm into the low 70s for the warmest spots this afternoon.

Temperatures will drop slightly as we start the work week and it will be breezy Monday into Tuesday with gusts around 25-30 mph. A system off the coast of California will draw in moisture to the Southwest with isolated showers on tap as early as Tuesday. As this system makes it's way eastward across the state, showers will increase especially Wednesday into Thursday. Showers could linger as long as Friday!

Expect tons of sunshine today with warm afternoon highs for early January! We'll see some minor changes this weekend thanks to a system passing by to the north. This system will bring a few clouds and "cooler" temperatures but highs will only drop to near 70 in the warmest spots.

We're wrapping up the work week on a warm note with highs in the 70s! Overnight lows will continue to be cold, just not as cold as earlier this week.

Highs will warm into the mid 70s for the warmest spots this afternoon with overnight lows back in the 40s and 50s. A ridge of high pressure will continue to push our highs roughly 10 degrees above normal for this time of year. That ridge begins to break down today allowing deeper moisture to move into the Southwest!
