TUCSON (KVOA) - The Tucson Fire Department is constantly lending a hand to the community, and on Tucson's westside, an elderly couple received a loving hand from the department's Collaborative Community Care Team.

During a smoke alarm installation event on the west side, the department found themselves installing a smoke alarm for an elderly couple who had recently taken in four kids. However, that couple didn't have beds for those children to sleep in.

Using grant money, the Tucson Collaborative Community Care Team bought and built bunk beds for the kids, in hopes that the small gesture made a significant impact on the rest of their lives.
