Drug dealer faces sentencing following murder conviction

PHOENIX – A member of the Colorado River Indian Tribes now faces the possibility of life in prison, after he was convicted killing a woman, by shooting her at point-blank range.

Prosecutors say a federal jury convicted Mickey Roy Anderson, Sr., 30, Tuesday on first-degree murder, burglary, and other charges.

Investigators say Anderson shot the victim in her face in January 2014, because she had purchased drugs from another drug dealer.

The victim was also a tribal member, and died almost instantly.

Anderson will be sentenced in May.
