TUCSON (KVOA) - A woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a cross walk on the east side Thursday night.

According to Tucson police, officers responded to reports of a "pedestrian lying in the roadway" of E. 29th St. and S. Beverly Ave. Upon arrival, officers identified the pedestrian as Pandora Rodriguez, 58, who was pronounced dead.

Reports detail that the 58-year-old was in a wheelchair with her dog, crossing 29th St. when she was hit by a vehicle. She was reportedly 50 feet "east of the cross walk when she was struck."

After the collision, officials reported that the vehicle fled the scene.

Tucson Police are currently searching for the vehicle involved. They are looking for a 1996-2006 pick-up truck or SUV made by General Motors. The vehicle should have front damage.
