Chocolate pudding pie

TUCSON (KVOA)- For this year's Anchored in Tradition segment, News 4 Tucson's Priscilla Casper showed us how to make a delicious chocolate pudding pie for the holidays.

  • 1 premade pie crust
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 6 tablespoons of cocoa
  • 1/4 cup of cornstarch
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 cups of milk

First, preheat oven and bake the premade pie crust according to the packaging instructions. As the pie crust bakes, pour the sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, salt and milk into a saucepan. Turn stove on to medium heat and whisk the ingredients for about 15 minutes until mixture thickens and starts to bubble.

When mixture is ready, pour into the pie crust. Optional: This is when you can mix in vanilla or nuts to the mixture.

Cover pie with wax paper to prevent skin from forming. Let it sit for about 30 minutes.

After that, cover the pie with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours. Enjoy!
