Thursday weather update

TUCSON - It's a less windy day of weather across Southern Arizona as the state sits in between weather systems. Skies are sunny and temperatures are warm running into the mid to upper 80s for most areas. According to Chief Meteorologist Matt Brode, another weather maker will rush into the state by Friday and linger through much of the weekend. Gusty winds will be the first impact you'll notice Friday afternoon, and with the persistent dry conditions in place, fire danger will be high. Red Flag Warnings and Wind Advisories will likely be posted for much of the region. By Saturday enough moisture may be around to kick up some isolated rain showers. As of now, most of the rain looks to be on the light side and mainly in the mountains, but this could change so stay with News 4 Tucson for further updates. Snow could be flying in the White Mountains on Saturday where a few inches could accumulate. Drier and less windy weather is expected by Sunday but temperatures will remain chilly for late April with highs only reaching the mid to upper 70s.
