Norbert brings Monsoon 2014 comeback

TUCSON - Monsoon 2014 makes a September comeback following triple digit stretch. High pressure supplies high heat across southern Arizona as Tucson records its 63rd triple digit day of the year this afternoon. Daytime highs will remain hot and in the 100-103 degree range through Thursday afternoon. Moisture will be on the rise for the second half the week courtesy of Tropical Storm Norbert in the eastern Pacific. Isolated storms will begin to fire back up region wide as soon as Thursday afternoon. As Norbert brushes by the southern edge of the Baja peninsula we could see a surge of moisture heading into the upcoming weekend. Scattered storm chances will begin Friday and last through the first weekend of September with heavy flooding rains the main storm threat. With our moisture content and thunderstorm chances on the rise our temperatures will start decrease. We'll see daytime highs go from the low 100s to the low 90s.
