TUCSON - The Winterhaven Festival of Lights is bringing fewer donations than expected to the Community Food Bank.

Minty Green is one of thousands of Tucsonans who depend on the Food Bank every week.

"When you get to be my age, you don't work," Green said, "so you live on a very limited income, and you have to take care of yourself and your family."

The free Festival of Lights is almost over. It is one of the biggest fundraisers and food drives of the year for the Food Bank. They hoped for at least $3,000 more and 5 more tons of food.

They were already $500,000 short on their budget in December, according to the CEO Bill Carnegie.

"It just kind of contributes to making what looks like the spring being a lot tougher on us, being able to keep up with the demand," Carnegie said.

John Loughry brought his family to Winterhaven on Friday night along with a donation.

"There are many people that are in need," Loughry said, "and we feel that it does a good thing to help other people."

Saturday, December 29 is the last night of the festival. It is a drive-through night.
