Water main break soaks northwest side apartments

TUCSON - A water main break soaked an area near Mountain View High School.
Tucson Water says a 12 inch line broke.
It sent water spewing onto the streets and inside an apartment complex.
Within an hour, crews located the source of the leak and shut it off.
Folks at the Crescent Ridge Apartments, near Thornydale and Linda Vista had their courtyard and pool overflowing with water.
So far, no reports of damage inside the units.
Resident Callis Hutchings helping make sure of that, by placing wooden boards to help divert the water away from the apartments.
"I grew up on a farm so I was helping, I put boards to divert the river. It's quite a bit of water," said Hutchings.
Crews will begin repair work Tuesday morning.
Other than some curiosity slowing, traffic doesn't seem to be affected.
