Posted 9:12 PM 10/1/2012 : Two homicides, suspects at large
TUCSON - Tucson Police are investigating two separate shootings, reported within hours of each other.
The first happened near Prince and Stone around two Monday afternoon.
The second happened a little after three at Broadway and Alvernon.
Both shootings happened in broad day light.
It's not believed they are related.
No one is in custody, the search is on for who did it.
At Broadway and Alvernon, Tucson Police say a man came up to the bus stop with a gun, and shot a man who was waiting to get on the bus.
The gunman ran from the scene.
Police scoured the neighborhood by air and on the ground.
Police tell News 4, the victim, did not have any identification on him.
No word if the men knew each other or what the motive might have been.
"We know that he ran from the scene, we're doing our best to contain that area where he ran and we'll search it with a dog accompanied by a swat officer," says Sergeant Chris Widmer with Tucson Police.
"He's described as an African American male, 6 foot one, thin build, wearing all black clothing," says Widmer.
Police are also investigating a homicide near Amphi High School.
Just before two Monday afternoon, officers found a man shot, inside a vehicle, on Yavapai Road.
He died at the hospital.
Police say no one reported hearing gunshots but someone called 911 after seeing the victim slumped over in the parked vehicle.
That victim is reportedly in his forties.
Anyone with information on either shooting is asked to call 911 or 88-crime.
