TUCSON- Inside the Unholy Ink Tattoo and Piercing Shop, Mariah Armenta is doing one of the holiest deeds.

She can't recall how many piercings she has.  "I think nine or ten," Armenta says.  "I can't remember."

But she knows the latest one on her right cheek is going to be extra special.  "I've never done a piercing for something that benefits something like this, so this will definitely be a very meaningful piercing," Armenta says.

This year Unholy Ink is hosting a Thanksgiving food drive.  Customers who donate three canned goods will get $5 off their piercing.  If you donate a whole turkey, the piercing will be free. 

Tattoo artists will also be giving discounts for donations.  All of the food will go to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.  "I just think it's important for everyone in the community to help those that are less fortunate than us," says Body Piercer Ryan Casey, who came up with the idea. 

He hopes it will shed a more positive light on Tucson's tattoo community.  "People tend to get the wrong idea about people marked by tattoos," Casey says.  "They think they're rough around the edges, but hopefully this gets them in here and shows we're a different breed."

Even if you're not in the mood for a tattoo or piercing, Casey says they will still except donations. 

The drive runs through November 21st.  You can drop off all donations at Unholy Ink at 5807 East 22nd Street.  It is open 24 hours.
