TUCSON - A congressional staffer who was killed in the January 8 mass shooting is about to be honored in Washington D.C.
Gabe Zimmerman was one of 6 people killed in the Tucson shootings earlier this year. He was shot while on official duty for Gabrielle Giffords' office.
House Resolution 364 will name a room on Capitol Hill "The Gabriel Zimmerman Meeting Room."
"I think this is a small token of what we can exemplify," Arizona Gongressman Paul Gosar said, "in what is so good about Gabe Zimmerman and what our staff means to us."
The bill is supported by both political parties.
"It's a really good honor and memorial to Gabe and his family," Arizona Gongressman Raul Grijalva said, "and all the people that lost their lives and got hurt in Tucson during that tragedy."
The measure is cosponsored by 402 members of Congress and should pass easily.
