TUCSON - Hundreds gathered on the U of A lawn to reflect on Monday's inauguration and on how much closer America is to Martin Luther King, Jr.'s dream.

For Frankson Armster, today is a very special day.

He was involved in the civil rights movement and holds a very special place in his heart for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

"I have a dream."

Those famous words continue to inspire and drive Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s followers who are leaders today.

"We've got to keep on marching and trying to reach his dream state because we're a long ways from there," said Armster.

Armster first marched during the civil rights movement at 17 years old.

"Blacks who lived in a certain area still couldn't go to the school in their area," said Armster.

Armster said he has seen progress since then but the dream has not been reached completely.

"You were limited to the things you could do as a child and as an adult. You were quite limited so it was hectic. You are still limited, but you do have some advantages," said Armster.

Laura Conover hopes the dream can be reached soon.

"We have a long ways to go, but now maybe there's a sense that with the progress we've made that it's possible," said Conover.

She made a sign 15 years ago hoping with it, she would see some change.

"I certainly worried that it wouldn't happen in my lifetime and now it's so real and possible," said Conover.

She believes the election of President Barack Obama and his inauguration to his second term is proof that Dr. King's dream is becoming a reality.
