TUCSON - The Tucson mother accused of killing her own children is returning to court Wednesday afternoon for her arraignment.
Perla Morales, 25, has been indicted on two counts of First-Degree Murder and two counts of Child Abuse.
Police say earlier this month, Morales shot 17-month-old Richard Rosovich, Jr., and 4-year-old Emma Rosovich before turning the gun on herself. She recovered at a hospital and was booked into Pima County Jail and held on a $1 million bond.
Earlier this month, News 4 Tucson's Rebecca Taylor spoke to family who are shocked at what happened.
The children's uncle says that his heart is broken, and he's not the only one.
It's a close-knit family, who live on the same street where the violence happened.
"The grandmother lives next door to where it all happened. She's impacted tremendously," said Tom Martinez, the family's chaplain. "She was obviously very close to the kids, so she's seeking answers."
As the family tries to make sense of it all, their prayers extend to Perla Morales.
The children's uncle, Jose Celaya, said, "I knew her well too, and my heart goes out to her."
"They have faith in God and know that the kids are in heaven," said Chaplain Martinez.
Holding on to their faith, Celaya has a message for his niece and nephew: "That we love them, it's tragic, but we love them."
