TUCSON-A family who suffered the loss of a child 18 months ago now is facing another tragedy.
According to a family friend, Alex Rodriguez, 2-year-old Edgar Lopez was killed last November when his grandfather accidently ran over him. Last Tuesday, his sister, 5-year-old Ada Marie and her little sister Emily were playing at their grandparents' home when a chunk of concrete molding fell from the fireplace, killing the 5-year-old. and injuring the toddler. Both of these freak accidents occurred at the grandparents' home.
Tucson Police investigated both incidents and say they were accidents. No criminal charges were filed.
When the grandfather heard the news about the second child dying, Rodriguez says he had a heart attack and was taken to a local hospital.
Rodriguez says, the grandparents take care of the children while the parents work. However, the family has no medical insurance, and no money to bury yet another child. The children's parents, Edgar and Monica Aguilar, are devastated over the loss of two children within 18 months.
A bank account has been set up at Compass Bank under the name of Eduardo Aguilar the children's grandfather. The account number is 253-036-5991.
