Posted 3:24 PM 7/31/2012 : Sun Tran employees negotiate contracts, bus driver strike possible at Midnight
TUCSON - Tucson bus service could end at Midnight if an agreement is not reached between Sun Tran and the union that represents Sun Tran employees.
The Teamsters Local 104 and Sun Tran have been negotiating for the last 6 weeks, Sun Tran spokeswoman Michele Joseph said. They are expected to continue throughout the night.
Both Sun Tran and the Teamsters say they are hopeful that an agreement will be reached before the employees' contracts expire at Midnight.
Teamsters Local 104 represents 497 Sun Tran employees, Joseph said. Sun Tran employs a total of 612 employees.
