TUCSON - The Tucson Fire Department is working a hazmat situation.

A heavy smell of chemicals, something like acetone being reported in the area near Park and Ajo Way.

The call came in at 9:18 Monday night.

Captain Barrett Baker with Tucson Fire says, "crews are on scene, they've gone in to try to make an initial determination as to what is producing the smell. As the wind blows at times we are getting a heavy sent, and other times you can't pick it up at all."

The area, on Freemont Street is largely industrial with few homes. So far there have been no evacuations.
