TUCSON - A song has been written to help raise awareness about the disappearance of Isabel Celis. It was written and recorded by local artists.
A beautiful melody, with a touching message.
"Who ever has her, who ever knows anything about where she might be, for it to touch their heart and soften their heart for them to come forward," artist Mic Ortiz says.
The idea for the song came naturally for the group, known as The Flight Team.
"If anything ever happened to my little girl I would want the community to go out and basically do what ever they can to bring her home," Yung Joe says.
Lil Zay adds, "That's really why we're doing this song, is to support."
The group's manager, Octavio Corrales works at the same hospital as Isabel's mom.
It was his first time hearing the track.
"I like it, it's beautiful," says Corrales, wiping away tears "It puts a story and a life to the face everyone sees on the flyers, you know?"
Needing a woman's voice on the record, they called up vocalist Adilene Muraz, "I'm actually honored to be in it, cause it's awesome."
As it turns out Muraz also knows the Celis family, the connection was known after she was brought on to sing the part.
"Isabels' family is actually from Douglas and her uncles I went to school with," she adds.
It's those small connections they say that makes the project personal and even more special.
A musical avenue to get the word out.
"I think that's going to give them hope, that we're going to bring Isa home. We're not going to try, we're going to do it, and she's going to come home," says Corrales.
To accompany the song's debut, they're filming a music video Monday evening.
And extras are needed.
If you'd like to be involved, filming begins at 6pm at the volunteer command center, located at Broadway and Craycroft.
Extras are asked to wear a purple t-shirt, or one with Isabel's picture if you have one.
