We asked Kelly how he felt about his lead in the polls, and his likely nomination for the GOP in Congressional District 8.
"We are extremely honored and humbled by the support of the voters, support for our plan of lower taxes, more jobs and lower gas prices using American energy," said Kelly.
Kelly lost by a narrow margin to Giffords in the 2010 race. Many thought the campaign got ugly, so we asked him if expected more of the same with Giffords' longtime aide Ron Barber.
"We're going to stick with the issues that matter to voters," he said. "We have seniors, veterans, Southern Arizona families that need lower taxes, they need lower gas prices using American energy. We're going to present our plan for that."
