Posted 11:58 AM 6/25/2012 : RAW: Gov. Brewer takes questions on SB1070 ruling
PHOENIX - Governor Brewer addressed the news media regarding the high court's decision on Arizona's anti-immigration law at a conference this morning.
"Arizona is prepared to move forward to enforce this law that we have fought too hard to defend, ever mindful of our rights, ever faithful to our constitution, ever worthy of the blessings of God who has given us that, that we share together as Arizonans and as Americans."
"Today the state of Arizona and senate bill was vindicted and the heart of the bill was upheld, unanimously," Gov. Brewer said. She cited Section 2B, the section which was upheld, which would require law enforcement to check the immigration status of anyone they have reasonable suspicion of being in the country illegally.
"I believe we have accomplished a lot, and that it was upheld by the United State Supreme Court, and that we will move forward instructor law enforcement to begin practicing what the United States Supreme Court has upheld," Gov. Brewer said.
