TUCSON - The Department of Public Safety is searching for 2 suspects who fled a traffic stop this afternoon - officers found a large quantity of marijuana inside the trunk of the vehicle they were in.

The incident began on Interstate 10 near the Twin Peaks area - Department of Public Safety officials say their officers tried to pull a Ford Taurus SE over for a traffic violation.

The car drove off, and officers pursued it to Cortaro and Silverbell, where it stopped in a parking lot. Two men got out and fled on foot.

DPS says they found between 60 and 100 pounds of marijuana inside. An official with DPS told News 4 Tucson they are looking for two Hispanic men wearing white shirts and athletic shorts.
