TUCSON - The Desert Diamond Cup at Kino Sports Complex attracted tourists from all over the country.

Frank Wilson lives near Boston. His Major League Soccer team, the New England Revolution, was playing in Tucson for the second year in a row. While in Arizona he visited attractions in Bisbee and Phoenix and went to the Desert Museum.

"We love it here," Wilson said. "It's beautiful country. It's completely different from anything you see in the East."

Anthony Engles came from Utah to see Real Salt Lake. He only spent the day in Tucson. He said soccer fans are some of the most dedicated in the sports world.

"They're willing to do anything to see them no matter where," he said. "Everyone plays it across the world. It's the world sport."

FC Tucson, Southern Arizona's minor league soccer team, has organized the tournament for 3 years. Chris Keeney is a co-owner of the club.

"It will keep getting bigger," he said. "As long as Tucson keeps showing its interest in soccer, which it does, then we're going to keep putting it on."
