(NBC News) - A 5-year-old Phoenix, Arizona boy died Monday afternoon after a 46-inch television apparently fell on the child.
According to Phoenix police, there were three or four adults in the home when the incident occurred about 12:30 p.m.
Police said the child had been in his room for a couple hours when his mother came to get him and found a large television on top of him.
Police said the television set was too large for the stand supporting it and was not anchored down properly.
The child died after he was transported to the hospital, fire officials said.
Police are still investigating the incident.
