TUCSON - Tucson Police are searching for a man they say walked up to a bus stop Monday afternoon and shot and killed a man.
The shooting happened at Alvernon and Broadway about 3 p.m. Police say the victim was waiting for the bus when he was shot.
Witnesses say the suspect took off into a nearby neighborhood.
He is described as a black man, six-foot one inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing black clothing.
Police searched the area with a K9 unit and helicopters, but so far no one is in custody.
Police do not know if the suspect and the victim knew each other.
The shooting shut down southbound Alvernon at Broadway.
