TUCSON - First Lady Michelle Obama makes a visit to Tucson. She was here to raise money for the President's re-election.
She was greeted by a group of kids who are involved with Tucson Village Farm, a program that teaches students urban farming. There were also U of A 4-H students who have been actively involved in Mrs. Obama's "Let's Move" campaign.
We spoke to one little girl who just wouldn't quit hugging the First Lady.
"She gave me a few hugs," said Annika Shepp, a Tucson Village Farm member. "It felt really good to me I was so nervous. She's really nice!"
The First Lady spoke at a private fundraiser at the TCC. Those in attendance say she was very accessible. "I couldn't believe that just anybody could shake her hand. There were no restrictions," said Roy Walz, a President Obama supporter. "She reached out to me. I was impressed."
Democrats say the First Lady's visit to Arizona shows that the state is up for grabs in November. Republicans say Arizona is a red state just like it has been in the past 3 election cycles.
