Posted 2:23 PM 9/10/2012 : Local 'Civility Institute' says negative campaigns not effective

TUCSON - As we approach the November election, a Tucson-based organization is continuing to promote civility across party lines at a national and local level.

They say despite the amount of negative campaigning we see everyday, it's actually not effective.

"People who are watching this closely, are predicting that negative campaigning will backfire in 2012," said Carolyn Lukensmeyer with the "National Institue for Civil Discourse," which is working to establish a standard of civility in the way congress members work with each other, and the public deals with one another.
