TUCSON - When you go to a restaurant, you expect the employees to have clean hands, but that's not always the case.  News 4 Tucson's Sean Mooney found that out on this week's Kitchen Cops.

Every month the Pima County Health Department conducts hundreds of inspections throughout the city. This week an inspector encountered a restaurant that definitely stood out, but in this case it was for all the wrong reasons.

Mei Hon Tsing Tao restaurant received 8 critical violations. The infractions included food not being properly stored at the required 41 degrees or less, with several items well over 50 degrees. A cook was observed wiping sweat off her forehead with gloved hands and then handling food. Another grabbed rice noodles with his bare hands. Cooked chicken was being held in a box used for raw chicken. No discard or use-by dates were displayed, and utensils were found with food particles on them. As a result of the numerous violations, Mei Hon Tsing Tao restaurant on East Irvington was given a provisional rating and will be re-inspected in 10 days.

Mariscos Chihuahua received 4 critical violations: potentially hazardous foods were not being properly stored at required temperature, raw bacon tested at 60 degrees, raw fish and oysters at 58 degrees. Tongs stored as clean had encrusted food debris stuck to them, and a cook was observed wiping her mouth with a bare hand and then continuing to stir soup. These violations earned Mariscos Chihuahua, on South 6th Avenue, a "Needs to Improve" rating.

Restaurants that received an Excellent rating this week include: Red Lobster on North Oracle, Dirtbag's on East Speedway and The Good Egg on Grant.
