Posted 10:00 PM 10/6/2011 : Kitchen Cops: Applebee's and Grand China Buffet
TUCSON - Tonight on Kitchen Cops, News 4 Tucson's Brandon Gunnoe tracked down another Chinese buffet that got slapped with some serious violations, and found a popular chain that may be ignoring the outside of their restaurant.
Applebee's on East Wetmore had one critical violations and three non-critical violations. The area around the dumpster was found to be heavily soiled with a greasy substance. Therefore, there were a lot of flies around the outside area of the restaurant. The Pima County Health Department recommended cleaning the rock around the dumpster and having it treated for flies. Applebee's on East Wetmore received a good rating.
Grand China Buffet on West Valencia road received three critical violations. An employee was washing dishes in a three-compartment sink that didn't have any sanitizer. Cold items on the buffet were not cold enough to be considered safe, and there was also seafood salad and crab salad in the walk-in refrigerator without a use-by date on them. Grand China Buffet on West Valencia received a good rating.
Eegee's on west Grant Road, Amarsi Ristorante on North Rancho Vistoso Blvd., and Wingstop on North Campbell Ave. all received an Excellent rating.
