TUCSON - One more chance of storms for the week, before the thermometer skyrockets.
Enough Monsoon moisture remains in place to help get isolated storms going today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Like the last few days, a widespread storm event is not anticipated. There is a chance one of these storms could create blowing dust on area roadways.
Expect storms to taper off after 9 PM, with clearing skies overnight.
High pressure builds in from the east for the remainder of the week, cutting off Monsoon moisture and heating up temps. Daytime highs Thursday through Sunday peak in the 106-108 range for Tucson under sunny skies. These highs are well above average for late June/early July, but should stay away from record levels.
Monsoon moisture gets imported back to southern Arizona next week, with isolated storms returning Tuesday and the 4th of July.
