TUCSON - Chamber of commerce weather continues for the Sonoran Desert.

A ridge of high pressure over the southwest is responsible for several days of sunshine, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Daytime highs for Metro Tucson this afternoon top out in the mid 90's, which is average for mid-September.

The peak of the late Summer heat arrives tomorrow and Thursday as Tucson hits the upper 90's during the afternoon hours. Areas west of the metro should reach triple digits during this time frame.

High pressure slides into New Mexico by the weekend, which may draw in enough moisture for some mountain cloud build-ups. No rain is expected and high temps should stick in the mid 90's.

Overnight lows the next several nights will be in the upper 60's to low 70's.
