Posted 9:43 AM 1/22/2013 : Record Winter warmth, then reality returns
TUCSON - A week ago today, Tucson woke up to a record low temp of 17 degrees. Today, we'll be on the other end of the thermometer.
Record warm temps are in the forecast the next two days, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Today's high temp of 81 degrees is one better than the old record set in 1986. Tomorrow looks to be another record run, with a forecast high of 82 degrees being two better than the record. Expect plenty of sunshine the next few days.
High pressure responsible for the record warmth will move east, replaced by a pair of Winter storms moving in as early as Saturday. Isolated showers & mountain snow are possible this weekend, with a better chance of valley rain/mountain snow Monday. Temperatures will drop 20-25 degrees from today to early next week.
