TUCSON - Call today the calm after the storm.

Drier air working in from the west along with a worked over atmosphere leads to a much quieter day weather-wise, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Isolated thunderstorms are possible today south of a Green Valley-Tombstone line with mostly sunny skies elsewhere. High temps this afternoon will be on the cool side, topping out in the mid 90's metro-wide.

Monsoon storm chances (and the heat) crank back up starting tomorrow. High pressure over Colorado guides in a low pressure trough starting Friday. Southern Arizona sees a chance of isolated storms tomorrow with scattered storms possible Saturday. Daytime highs return to triple digits Saturday afternoon.

A daily cycle of isolated valley thunderstorms rounds out the remainder of the weekend & early next week, with no clear cut day looking more active than another.
