TUCSON - Temperatures sizzle as the Monsoon starts to fizzle.
High pressure building over the state cuts off Monsoon moisture, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Most of southern Arizona tops out in the 100's today, with a chance of isolated thunderstorms along the International Border.
Through the weekend, Tucson's forecast highs will be in the 106-109 range with mostly sunny skies. Friday looks to be the hottest day of the year.
Monsoon moisture returns to southern Arizona early next week. This moisture interacts with a low pressure trough moving in from the east, leading to isolated thunderstorms Tuesday. Plan on bringing an umbrella to your 4th of July plans, as thunderstorms are expected during the afternoon hours.
