Posted 8:33 AM 7/30/2012 : Hit & miss storms for the work week
TUCSON - Not as stormy this week compared to the last few days.
High pressure over the Oklahoma panhandle keeps a southeast flow aloft & moisture over southern Arizona, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon with areas from Tucson & westward seeing the best chance.
While storms will be hit & miss, the flood threat remains elevated because of this weekend's rain. Today's Monsoon Prediction Index is at 4 out of 10 for the moderate flash flood risk.
Storms stay isolated through the weekend, with slightly drier air moving in by week's end. As that dry air moves in, daytime highs make a run at the triple digits. Expect temps in the 100's Friday through Sunday.
