Posted 8:19 AM 1/14/2013 : Record cold this morning, more coming tonight?
TUCSON - History-making cold this morning.
The Tucson International Airport dropped to 21 degrees today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. This breaks the old record low temp of 22 degrees set back in 1940. Highs today only rebound into the mid 40's under mostly sunny skies. Another round of near-record cold is on tap tonight, with Hard Freeze Warnings in effect for southern Arizona.
Tomorrow morning's record low is 20 degrees set in 2007, with the forecast calling for 21 degrees by daybreak.
A warming trend finally arrives by mid-week, with 60 degree weather slated to return Thursday through the weekend. Overnight lows in the upper 30's to low 40's start Friday.
