TUCSON - A soggy, stormy next few days for southern Arizona.

High pressure over the Rockies will draw in an inverted low pressure trough, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. This combines with Monsoon moisture to bring a chance of scattered thunderstorms today, mainly between noon and midnight. 

A few storms will be capable of gusty winds over 40 MPH and locally heavy rainfall. For that reason, today's Monsoon Predicition Index sits at a 7 out of 10.

Tomorrow features a similar set-up, as scattered thunderstorms remain in the forecast during the afternoon and evening. Most places may see 0.25-0.50" rain between now and Saturday night, with a few isolated 1" amounts.

Sunday and next week looks to see a slight downturn in storm development, as dry air filters in from the east. Expect isolated thunderstorms and daytime highs in the upper 90's/100's in the Tucson metro.
