Posted 8:05 AM 1/25/2013 : "Sonoran Soaker" arrives tonight
TUCSON - As of this morning, Tucson sits 0.71" below average for rainfall this year. That deficit gets wiped out by tomorrow.
Dry but cloudy skies prevail this afternoon, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. A low pressure system near Los Angeles moves in tonight, triggering widespread showers and a few thunderstorms. Rain continues through early Sunday morning before tapering off.
Some valley locales could see up to an inch of rain from this system, with only an inch or two of snow possible for the highest mountain peaks.
A second storm system moves in by Monday, bringing scattered showers, gusty winds and snow above 6,000 feet. Drier weather returns by Tuesday.
