Posted 10:37 AM 8/16/2013 : Plenty of heat, a few storms for the Sonoran Desert
TUCSON - More of the hit & miss Monsoon variety heading into the weekend.
Enough moisture stays in place for isolated storms today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. A lack of instability limits widespread storm potential as high pressure supplies sinking air. Higher terrain locations stand the best chance of seeing storms through this evening.
Today's forecast high of 104° would be the 56th triple digit day of 2013 in Tucson.
High pressure slowly starts to move toward Colorado & New Mexico by the weekend. This should be enough to develop isolated storms into next week. Models hint that Sunday afternoon could be the greatest odds for storms in your backyard. Expect highs in the 100's for Tucson the next 7 days.
