Posted 2:59 PM 8/19/2013 : House raid put Tully Elem. on lockdown Monday morning
TUCSON - Tucson Police raided a house with guns drawn Monday morning, prompting a discretionary lockdown at nearby Tully Elementary School.
The school was put into the heightened security mode at about 9 a.m. when the warrant was served at a home in the 1700 block of West Elm, Tucson Police said.
Officers obtained the warrant in a case involving the trafficking of stolen property.
Information that the suspect was armed lead police to lock down the school as a precaution.
Detectives have been investigating a rash of burglaries in the Tucson area of business-- mostly optical and cellular retailers, police said. Lt. Graves says detectives have also been looking into stolen vehicles used in these burglaries. A stolen car lead investigators to this location, Graves said.
