TUCSON - The Pima County Sheriff's Department issued an alert regarding a suspicious person in the Foothills area, after a high school student reported that a man had approached her Wednesday morning.
The suspicious man is being described as Caucasian and in his early to mid 30's. He has a medium build and dirty strawberry blonde hair. He also has a full beard, about 1/4 inch which is also dirty strawberry blonde. The suspect has light colored eyes.
The student, from Catalina Foothills High Schol ,says the man approached her for the fourth time in about a year and a half while she was walking to school. She says he always tries to get her into his car by asking if he "can give her a ride," and that the third time he stopped her he was more agitated than normal.
A video surveillance photo shows his car to be a 4 door, beige vehicle. According to the Pima County Sheriff's Department, the suspect is known to drive either a Honda or Toyota 4DSD. The vehicle is an older model "boxy" looking vehicle with no tint.
The Sherriff's Department also says they've been called to the area regarding the same suspect before.
The victim says his tactic is usually the same.
"He said 'do you need a ride someplace.' This is the same line he's used every single time. And then a year and a half ago, he started to get very agitated and started yelling at me through his car, saying 'I just wanted to give you a ride, let me just give you a ride, get in the car.' I said 'no' and immediately ran to school."
The victim's mother has filed a police report, and Catalina Foothills High School has also sent out an email to students parents warning them of the situation.
