Posted 3:43 PM 1/1/2013 : Grill, Wig-O-Rama fire burns historic building

TUCSON - The two-alarm fire that broke out at the Wig-O-Rama downtown, shortly after 3 a.m., is now under control.

More than 40 firefighters battled that fire, going into defensive mode within 14 minutes of responding.

Firefighters say the fire started in the attic.

TFD tells us that fire investigators are not yet able to get into the building because of several large, collapsed AC Units. This is being called a safety issue for investigators. Once investigators are able to get into the building, they can determine the cause of the fire.

The Wig-O-Rama building has been in the area of Scott and Congress since the 1930's.
