TUCSON - A reminder of the dangers of heat exhaustion comes after Mark Geise, a construction contractor died working in triple-digit temperatures Tuesday.

Officials are warning everyone to exercise caution when outdoors.

Golfers at El Rio Golf Course were baring the heat Wednesday.

They said they're used to the heat and well aware of the dangers of heat exhaustion.

It was a scorching day out on the green, but that didn't keep these golfing enthusiasts away.

They started golfing around 7:30 Wednesday morning to avoid the worst of the heat, but they said they usually golf at 2:30 p.m.

Armed with plenty of fluids, these golfers are well prepared.

"We always have the carts and the trees to hide under," said Paul Mincah.

He said he's very familiar with the symptoms of heat exhaustion and makes sure his friends know them too, so that they can avoid a trip here.

"You want to try to take in enough water before you start having symptoms of nausea, dizziness, headaches," said Doctor Andrea Herbert.

That goes for everyone, those used to the heat and those out-of-towners as well, but doctor Herbert does warn:

"People that come visit here in our state and are not used to the heat, their kidneys are actually not (used) to the heat and the extreme heat that we have, so they're actually more at risk," said Dr. Herbert.

She said it's crucial especially if you'll be outdoors to drink at least two bottles of water every hour.
