TUCSON - It's Skin Cancer Awareness Month, and with things heating up here in the desert, it's a great time to talk about what to look for.

On this week's "Face It," dermatologist Dr. Tina Pai stopped by to talk about skin cancer, and shared some interesting facts about the disease.

She says typically, when we talk about skin cancer, we talk about "fair-skinned" people, but really, no one is immune to it.

There are three main types of skin cancer: basal cell, squamous cell, and melanoma, Dr. Pai says.

The overall survival rate in African-Americans is only 59 percent, compared with 85 percent in Caucasians - largely due to delayed diagnosis.

The renowned musician Bob Marley died at the age of 36 from a melanoma that started in his toenail, which was initially mistaken for a bruise.
