Posted 7:16 PM 8/22/2012 : Rathbun Realty owners learn employee embezzling money

TUCSON - On Tuesday, some clients of Rathbun Reality received a troubling letter about the company's finances, stating that a trusted employee had embezzled money from the local company.

It's been reported $1,000,000 is missing.

Kay Centano, an employee of Rathbun Reality tells News 4 Tucson: "I want to tell you our property owners we're going to work with them, we're going to talk with them and we're going to make sure they are taken care of."

Centeno wouldn't go into detail about the amount, or how the owners Bette and George Glover discovered the missing money.

It's been reported, that an audit was held on Friday and that a trusted employee walked out of the audit. Centeno does confirm the meeting took place.

"It is devastating to the owners of the company who are the most wonderful people I have ever met," Centeno said.

One client tells News 4 Tucson the reason he went with Rathbun Reality was because they had been in Tucson for a long time.

However, he has not heard from his leasing agent since he sent her an email regarding the letter.
The owner says they are cooperating fully with Tucson police and the FBI.
