TUCSON - Personnel from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base are taking claims from property owners who sustained damage as a result of Friday's sonic boom.

Property owners can file the claim at the Murphy-Wilmot Library Friday between noon and 5 p.m. The Air Force asks you bring proof of ownership, any pictures, receipts or estimates for the damages.

Captain Christie Jones said, "as military members we understand that this can be an inconvenience so we want to help people get through the claims, get their information, hear their stories and sit down with them."

Captain Jones said property owners will meet with an attorney or paralegal to file paperwork and then a civil engineer with visit the property for further evaluation.

Lori Schurman filed her claim Thursday morning. A collectible plate fell and crashed on Friday afternoon as she heard the sonic boom, " it sounded like the biggest explosion I have heard and it sounded like it was right outside my window."

Schurman was able to find a $40 replacement online and brought the necessary paperwork with her to file the claim, "it was fast, easy, very friendly. I was very pleased."
