TUCSON - Last night, city councilman Paul Cunningham made his first appearance since allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct surfaced last week.
While he did not say anything prior to today's city council executive session, he did read a statement before the main meeting got started.
In it, he addressed what happened in San Diego and said he is getting help.
"I acknowledge that I had too much to drink and said some things that were inappropriate," Cunningham said. "I apologize for my behavior I have some personal issues I am dealing with, I will be making amends to anyone I offended, I including my constituents, as best I can. I am participating in an alcohol treatment program. I'll reserve further comment until the conclusion of the inquiry."
The issue drew more attention to ethics issues, which the council will discuss at a meeting next week.
