Guardrail work continues on eastbound Interstate 10 east of Tucson Wednesday evening

The Arizona Department of Transportation will close the left lane on eastbound I-10, east of Tucson, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday (June 13) for guardrail repair.

The schedule is subject to change due to a variety of reasons, including weather, availability of materials, and mechanical difficulties. ADOT advises drivers to proceed through or near work zones with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

NORTH CAMPBELL AVENUE REPAVING PROJECT AND BIKE LANE PROJECT

On Monday, June 4, 2012, between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., the Pima County Department of Transportation along with its contractor, Southern Arizona Paving, will be performing a milling and asphalt paving treatment on Campbell Avenue from River Road to Skyline/Sunrise Drive.

This project will also reduce the four-lane section of North Campbell Avenue that begins south of Camino La Brinca and extends north to Avenida de Posada. The existing four-lane section on North Campbell Avenue will be reduced to a new two-lane section (one-lane in each direction) and bike lanes on each side to improve safety for roadway users. The new pavement will replace deteriorating pavement with a new asphalt surface and new striping for continuous bike lanes along this segment.

On Monday, June 4, 2012, the contractor will be starting preliminary work and begin the milling and paving on Thursday, June 7, 2012. Work is expected to be completed by the end of June 2012.

Traffic will be detoured onto a milled surface shoulder and flag personnel/pilot cars will direct traffic through the work zone area.

Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices.

LULU WALKER SCHOOL SAFETY ENHANCEMENT PROJECT
ORACLE JAYNES STATION ROAD AND ROLLER COASTER ROAD

On Monday, June 11, 2012, between the hours of 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Pima County Department of Transportation, Amphitheater Public Schools and their contractor, KE & G Construction, will begin a safety enhancement project on Oracle Jaynes Station Road and Roller Coaster Road. The project is expected to be complete within three (3) months.

This project will improve access, circulation and parking at Lulu Walker School by shifting Oracle Jaynes Station Road to the west, reconfiguring the parking and constructing new bus bays along the south side of the school. Speed tables will also be installed for traffic calming purposes.

Motorist driving through the work zone area may experience minor delays. Flag personnel will be directing traffic through the area. Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices.
