TUCSON - The family of a man who was found dead in his burning home is looking for justice.
Firefighters responded to a house fully engulfed in flames near Park Avenue and 36th Street on May 28.
They forced entry to see if anybody was in the home.
Firefighters found Ramon Gutierrez, 67, dead inside.
"It was just tragic," Gutierrez' brother-in-law, Fred Sanchez said. "He cared about people. He was a good man."
Gutierrez was found on the floor, beaten unconscious before the fire started, according to Sanchez.
"If it had been an act of God," Sanchez said, "then we could take it a lot better."
Police have not released the identity of any suspects or motives.
"Hopefully, they're able to put a case together," Sanchez said. "Somebody needs to be held responsible."
The family struggled to pay for funeral costs. They set up an account for assistance at Pima Federal Credit Union. The account is in Isabel Rodriguez' name. The number is 0001303691.
