TFD puts out garage fire in central Tucson

TUCSON - Tucson Fire crews extinguished a garage fire early Thursday in central Tucson.

According to officials, at around 11 a.m., TFD received a report of heavy smoke coming from a garage in the 4600 block of East 10th Street, near Country Club Road and Broadway Boulevard. After confirming the home was evacuated, the 28 firefighters who responded to the incident controlled the blaze in under 20 minutes.

TFD said one resident was asleep at the time of the incident but was awakened by one of their barking dogs. Neighbors responded to the incident with small water hoses prior to the arrival of the fire crews.

Two adults in their 60s, a teenager and two dogs were impacted by the blaze.

No one was injured in the incident.

TFD said the smoke detectors did not go off when the fire started.

Crews are still investigating the cause of the fire.
